Addi's 2nd Birthday!

Addi had a party at the carousel in the Parks Mall. It was perfect for the little kids. What's better than rides on the merry-go-round and cake?? Hudson and Nolan had a great time - they LOVE Ava and Addi. Hudson just kept saying their names over and over and telling them to "come mere" (that's his favorite thing to say right now - it's super cute!!) Addi and Hud are exactly one week apart. I vividly remember being in "labor" with Hudson and Scott and I going to the hospital in the middle of the night because I just knew it was "time". The nurses confirmed I was having contractions, they just weren't close enough together. They had me walk the halls of labor and delivery for a few hours and then sent me home and told me to come back when they were 5 minutes apart. A week later we had to induce labor after days of contractions that weren't progressing! Anyways, while I walked the halls we passed Sara's room a million times with some pink baby thing hanging on the door and a sweet baby girl (and a NO LONGER PREGNANT mom!), I was super jealous! I didn't think I could wait another second for my baby! I love that our kiddos are so close in age and that they just love each other to pieces. Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Mother's Day 2009

It was a crazy, fun holiday for us again this year. Started out the morning with my sweet boys. Nolan made me some precious little things from school and I got some new pj's and shoes that they picked out. Nolan and Scott ran to the store for ice and brought me home some beautiful flowers (in yellow with green of course) Nolan was so proud of his "John Deere" flowers!!

We had all of Scott's family over for hamburgers for lunch. It was nice to cookout and visit and the weather turned out to be pretty nice so we could have the windows open and the boys and Hunter just played in the backyard.

Me, B and M took my mom out for just a girls night dinner. It was good to be there without the guys and have a good time. Michelle bought my mom this ridiculous giant mother's day card with balloons, it was hilarious!

A Mother's Heart

I loved you from the very start,

You stole my breath, embraced my heart.

Our life together has just begun,

You're part of me my little one.

As mother with child, each day I grew,

My mind was filled with thoughts of you.

I'd daydream of the things we'd share,

Like late-night bottles and teddy bears.

Like first steps and skinned knees,

Like bedtime stories and ABC's.

I thought of things you'd want to know,

Like how birds fly and flowers grow.

I thought of lessons I'd need to share,

Like standing tall and playing fair.

When I first saw your precious face,

I prayed your life be touched with grace.

I thanked the angels from above,

And promised you unending love.

Each night I lay you down to sleep,

I gently kiss your head and cheek.

I count your little fingers and toes;

I memorize your eyes and nose.

I linger at your nursery door,

Awed each day I love you more.

Through misty eyes, I dim the light,

I whisper, "I love you" every night.

I loved you from the very start,

You stole my breath, embraced my heart.

As mother and child our journeys begin,

My heart's yours forever my little friend.

I found this poem when Nolan was about 5 weeks old. I can remember just crying as I read it because it was exactly how I felt at that moment. Such a blessing - Happy Mother's Day!

Dog Food Disaster!

Ugh! Not sure why but Hudson has been getting into Daisy's dog food - DAILY! I think I have cleaned up a mess of dog food thrown across the living room three times this week. It one of those things that all the sudden I hear from the kitchen or the other living room "Here Dais! Get a bite Dais!" and then I know it's too late. When I catch him, he just acts like he has no idea why this would be a problem. I have put him the corner, smacked his hand - nothing works. It so weird because he has never messed with it until this past couple of weeks. Hopefully the fun in it will wear out soon.

Saturday Night In

Saturday night Scott hosted a softball meeting at our house - it was just a quick meeting for all the guys to get together and talk about the team that they are forming. They are gonna join a league at the new Field of Dreams in Mansfield. It will be a lot of fun because it's gonna be mostly guys that Scott has been friends with forever. The games will be on Friday nights starting in a few weeks and it will be fun to be in the stands with all the other wives and let the kiddos play. Anyways, they needed to get together to talk about it so we invited everyone out to our house. Late that evening Mike, Nicole, Geoff and Addyson were still there so we bathed the kids and told Addyson she could sleep with Nolan. Scott read them all a bedtime story and then we decided to play a little Guitar Hero. It was a good night!

Kendall and Mady's 3rd Birthday Party!

Fun times at Pump It Up for the sweet birthday girls! I can't believe that they are three years old. I know I always say it, but I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST TIME GOES!! Just wanted to share a few pics...

Hudson was such the big kid at the party. He ran straight in and started climbing up the big two story slide and actually made it up the ladder and slid right down that big old slide without even a thought. Nolan still is cautious about it. So funny how different they are. Hud is so my little dare devil! He also had a few meltdowns over cake and candy at the party. I am not really one of those moms that is super worried about what my kids eat but I do care when it is something that is messy. I hate messy sticky candy or anything that will stain clothing. Wouldn't you know it? Hudson was given the RED iced cupcake and was wearing a BRAND NEW white trimmed shirt. Not a good combo - I was so "that mom" that wiped the icing off his cupcake. I thought he didn't see me do it - but yes he most certainly did see me do it and he was SO mad. Then I wouldn't let the boys have suckers in the car so again I was the bad mom. It's tough love around the Mays' household. :)

Quick Post

I have not had time to post any pictures from the past few weekends - I will hopefully get to it this week. I have been SO busy. Work is out of control and I feel like I spend all my time worried about it. I have new accounts and things are just generally bad there as far as the work load and morale within our office. I know that it will get better but right now I am just feel like I am at the breaking point. I feel like I half-ass everything. (I apologize for the language but it's exactly how I feel!) I don't have enough time for my husband, for my kids, for my family or for my friends and I am a crazy person about 90% of the time. Something has to change, I am just not sure what it should be. I just keep praying that God will take control and get me through it. I need him to show me where I should go and what I should be doing with my life. I just don't want to keep being torn in a hundred directions and never having time for any of it! I love my kids and truly wish that I could be a stay at home mom and leave this mess behind. That would mean HUGE changes for our family's lifestyle and I am just not sure that is the right answer either. I just wanted to put a post in to let everyone know that I am alive. Just working to dig myself out of a hole. :)

On another note, last week I was just watching the morning news and a Best Buy commerical came on. I was just half watching it but it was something cheesy about Mother's Day and digital picture frames - but the last 10 seonds of the commerical just got me right in the heart and it made me tear up. The little Best Buy worker just made a comment about how everyone loves their mom and something about the way she said it was really sweet and just made me get a lump in my throat. I love being a mom - it was one of those silly moments that you only know that feeling if you are one. I feel so lucky to know what it is to feel SO blessed. Thank god for those sweet boys sleeping across the hall. :0)
