Saturday night we went to Jen and Jacob's wedding. It was at this really cute place in Colleyville. It's like a little wedding chapel with a banquet room but the place also is a photography studio so in the back there all kinds of different walls and sections for different types of photo sessions. After the wedding we went out back and took a few pics...it was sooooo much fun! Jen looked beautiful and the wedding was perfect. I am so happy her for and Jacob; can't wait to see what their future holds!
I know I have probably talked about the pub the before but just in case I haven't. The River Bottom Pub is a hole in the wall bar that I used to drink at as a "kid". Ha Ha - okay not really a kid but definitely underage. In high school one of my best friend's dad used to drink there all the time and he went once with his dad and they server him a beer. (I know this whole story sounds very trashy - but seriously we were good kids.) Dan told me about it one night and so we decided to go up there and just try to order a drink to see if they would serve us. Um, they did! It was like the angels started to sing and the skies opened! We left there that night and promised not to tell any of our high school friends about it. We knew they would all want to go up there and blow it for us. The very next Saturday night I told all my girls about it (apparently I wasn't a very good promise keeper back then) and all of us piled up in the car and headed over to the Pub. When we walked in, Dan and all of his guy friends were there!!! It was hilarious! We both just laughed when we realized we both told everyone. They served us and really didn't care about things like laws or TABC. It was a little piece of high school heaven! Of course once we got older we found much classier places to hang out so the Pub was long forgotten. When Becca and Michelle were in high school; (I'm thinking maybe their jr and sr years) I told them about the pub. It was a secret torch passed down to a whole new generation. I wonder if the Pub will still be around when Nolan is in high school - poor kid...I will know all about it. No drinking for him! :) Anyways, in honor of old times we spent Saturday night at the Pub. Fun night as always! It's the only place that will serve you Miller Lite in a can. Love it!
I haven't had a chance to stop and blog the past couple of weeks - it's been crazy busy! But I did have a chance to update my music player with my new faves so I thought I would share. Just crank it up and minimize the screen - they are goodies!
Becca has the sweetest "in-lawed" family ever and I am so glad that our families click so well. Kim (Conner's Momma) graduated from nursing school this past week and her kiddos threw her a party to celebrate. My and I went and had a great time. Check out Abby's sweet belly...baby Sara will be here any day!
We spent the last week trapped at home due to ice and snow. School was closed for a record 4 days! The boys played in the ice on Tuesday with Scott and quickly realized it was not the fluffy "fun" snow they remembered from last year. We pretty much spent Wednesday and Thursday inside and had to think of everything under the sun to keep busy! We played hot wheels car wash in the bathtub where the boys "detailed" cars for a few hours, we painted, we colored, we read, we watched movies, we played dress up and just when they couldn't take it anymore Mike and Nicole came over and we made s'mores in the fireplace. Friday we got six inches of snow - the good kind!! The boys played outside ALL DAY! We would just rotate clothes and back out they would go! Our neighbors have two boys and so does the family behind us so they had snow ball fights, made a snow man, made snow ice cream and took a snow hike up to the school. BUSY FUN DAY! It was a crazy week but a great week. I am blessed to have a job where I can work from home in cases like this so I spent most of the early mornings and evenings curled up with the laptop working by the fire - not too shabby!
