Mother's Day 2010
Usually our holidays are crazy out of control with a million places to be and a million people to see. This Mother's Day was different for the first time. We were able to to see everyone and take our time and enjoy the company! We did dinner with Nana on Saturday night. We went to Cheesecake Factory which was super yummy and the boys were great! I even brought home this ridiculously huge piece of chocolate cake which me and both boys had for breakfast on Sunday morning. (GREAT way to start your mother's day!) We went to church and had lunch at Smashburger (my favorite!) and then went home for a relaxing afternoon. I opened my wonderful presents that Nolan hand picked for me at Big Lots. :) I really want to make a special pendant of the boys but I am waiting until we have our family pictures taken in June to do it. So Scott and Nolan went to Big Lots just to find me a little something for today. In true Nolan style, I opened a Ronco knife set (yes, like from the makers of the "as seen on tv" Ronco Rotisserie) because he thought I would like them for when I am cooking and he knew I didn't have one like the big meat cleaver in the set! He also picked out a package of pens for me to take to work and a pair of sparkly flip flops that he thought would be pretty for church. It was super sweet and hilarious all at the same time! I love my sweet boy - he really is a super thoughtful gift giver, random but truly thinks and reasons everything. I love that so much about him and I hope his future wife appreciates that too! Becca went into William Sonoma to get a gift for her mother-in-law and found a nifty little prize for me too! She bought me a "chop and measure" and it's awesome! You can place a half an onion or potato on it and then you just close the lid and it slices it right up; then the part where the chopped veggie is contained has a measure on the side so you can keep slicing until you know you have however much you need. It has a couple of attachments for slicing and dicing - I know I will use it all the time! I made a new cheese dip to take over to MiMi's for dinner. It was a cream cheese dip that was full of veggies that I had to chop up so both of my gifts were put to good use! We went to MiMi and PaPa's for dinner with all the family. The boys played army with Hunter and had blast. I think it was my favorite mother's day yet!
