Ben's 3rd Birthday Party
Johnna and Josh had Ben's party at their house and had a Halloween themed event where all the kids wore their costumes. I didn't want the boys to mess up their real costumes so they just pulled out an old goodie from the dress up closet at home and off we went. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time!

Pumpkin Patch 2010
I love fall and I love taking the boys to the pumpkin patch. They are some of my favorite pictures from over the years. I know it will not be that much longer that I can talk Nolan into it. Right now he still thinks it's fun so I am thankful for that! It was hard to find the boys matching shirts. Hud is still in toddler and Nolan is now in big kid sizes so that makes it really tough! I was able to get Hud an XS in big boy and it was a little big but it worked. I thought the purple was funny for a change too! We met up with all the kiddos for a fun night!

You've Been Boo'd!
This year we came home to a special treat last week – someone boo’d us! To be boo’d means to leave special Halloween treats on someone’s doorstep along with a note and a sign that is taped to their door. The sign let’s everyone know they’ve already been boo’d. Then the note tells you to make copies of the sign and the note and “boo” at least two other families. I let Nolan and Hudson each pick out three families for us to BOO. We made up little treat bags this weekend and went after school to complete our mission. Nolan was hilarious because he was SO serious about it. He told me we should be incognito which I thought was so funny because I had just told him what the word meant over the weekend and he remembered. He wanted us to wear disguises while we boo’d everyone which last all of about thirty seconds – but it was funny. I love the age he is at right now – still little and like to be silly, yet able to do big kid stuff now. He wanted to get out and drop the good all by himself. (Which worked out great so I didn’t have the buckle and unbuckle Hud everytime!) He would set it all up and then post the sign and then ring the doorbell and RUN back to the car. It was such a little adrenaline rush for him. Too cute! By the last two houses Hudson had caught onto the fun and wanted to do it too. He messed it up for the first house because he rang the door bell before Nolan was ready and they got busted by Ryleigh! The boys had a great time doing it – I think it will be a new tradition for us!

PaPa's Birthday
Sunday night we went over to Mema's house to celebrate PaPa's birthday. This who we call "mimi's papa" (Scott's dad) - since we have four PaPa's it gets a little confusing so we say which grandmother they go with to keep it straight! :) Randy turned 54 this week so we met for pizza and cake. The boys get so excited to see Hunter and it makes them wild and crazy. Since it was already late and dark outside there was really no where for them to go play so they drove us CRAZY!! Note to self -do not go to Mema's for family functions at night if at all possible. It's just too hard to keep rowdy kids under your feet and think you are going to be able to have a conversation! Hunter is so great with the boys and they just love him to death so I know it's hard for them to have to sit and be quiet. They just want to play and wrestle, but it turns into this huge behavior battle. The problem was that Mamie was asleep so everyone had to be quiet. There is nothing quiet about Hud getting in trouble - so when he was acting crazy I couldn't put him in the corner or really discipline him the way I normally would. It was like he realized this and decided to just do what he wanted. Scott and I ended up in a fight over their behavior and by the time we left we were exhausted. We decided that from now on we will just take two cars to situations like this that might get "hairy". Then if they start acting up one of us will just take them home. maybe after a few times of having to leave early they will stop doing it. I know part of it is their age but rules are rules and they should do as we say. Ugh!
