Lisa's Birthday Happy Hour
I am so late in posting this pics from Lisa's b-day happy hour last month. It was a fun girl night that somehow turned into a complete photo session with props and all - ha ha! Thought I would share some of my faves. It all started because Cheryl has this "signature pose" that she dose where she looks back from over her shoulder for the pic and she said they always come out good because you look thin. We all had to test out the pose and it was hilarious!

Mother's Day 2010
Usually our holidays are crazy out of control with a million places to be and a million people to see. This Mother's Day was different for the first time. We were able to to see everyone and take our time and enjoy the company! We did dinner with Nana on Saturday night. We went to Cheesecake Factory which was super yummy and the boys were great! I even brought home this ridiculously huge piece of chocolate cake which me and both boys had for breakfast on Sunday morning. (GREAT way to start your mother's day!) We went to church and had lunch at Smashburger (my favorite!) and then went home for a relaxing afternoon. I opened my wonderful presents that Nolan hand picked for me at Big Lots. :) I really want to make a special pendant of the boys but I am waiting until we have our family pictures taken in June to do it. So Scott and Nolan went to Big Lots just to find me a little something for today. In true Nolan style, I opened a Ronco knife set (yes, like from the makers of the "as seen on tv" Ronco Rotisserie) because he thought I would like them for when I am cooking and he knew I didn't have one like the big meat cleaver in the set! He also picked out a package of pens for me to take to work and a pair of sparkly flip flops that he thought would be pretty for church. It was super sweet and hilarious all at the same time! I love my sweet boy - he really is a super thoughtful gift giver, random but truly thinks and reasons everything. I love that so much about him and I hope his future wife appreciates that too! Becca went into William Sonoma to get a gift for her mother-in-law and found a nifty little prize for me too! She bought me a "chop and measure" and it's awesome! You can place a half an onion or potato on it and then you just close the lid and it slices it right up; then the part where the chopped veggie is contained has a measure on the side so you can keep slicing until you know you have however much you need. It has a couple of attachments for slicing and dicing - I know I will use it all the time! I made a new cheese dip to take over to MiMi's for dinner. It was a cream cheese dip that was full of veggies that I had to chop up so both of my gifts were put to good use! We went to MiMi and PaPa's for dinner with all the family. The boys played army with Hunter and had blast. I think it was my favorite mother's day yet!

Meaghan and Todd's Wedding
Last Saturday we went down to Austin for Meaghan and Todd's wedding. (Well it was actually in a little town called Luling which is about 30 east of San Marcos.) It was a sweet little place right on the river, it was an old mill where they had built a pavilion with a giant flag stone porch and patio. It was a really neat venue, just beautiful! My aunt Cindy made the wedding cake and Scott and I were tasked with taking it down to the wedding. It was VERY stressful driving 4 hours with a wedding cake. I felt like I had a bomb riding in the back seat! It was boxed up and I had to stack it, pipe on the icing between each layer and then put on the butterflies that Meaghan had bought. I was pretty much freaking out when we got there and I had to do it. It was like all at once it hit me that I was responsible for the cake...SOMEONE'S WEDDING CAKE. Super scary! But I think it turned out just like she wanted it. (at least I hope so!) I also (of course) snapped tons of pictures because the place was awesome, the kiddos were scrumptious and the bride and groom were as close to perfect as you could get - just a beautiful wedding all the way around. I just love Meaghan, she has been Becca's best friend for forever and she is a wonderful person - so sweet and so much fun! She and Todd are made for each other and you can just feel the love when you are around them. We had a great time and the day couldn't have been better!
