Easter 2010

Easter is always a super busy day for us. Lots of family, lots of love, lots of food - never enough time! We started off the day with an egg hunt from the Easter Bunny which was pretty exciting because he hid the the eggs in the backyard this year. In the years past they were hidden around the house because it was either too cold or raining! The boys were excited to see that he had picked out candy and prizes just for them; including Lego candy, candy rocks and gummy animals. Hudson's had some little bath toy squirt animals and every time he would open and egg with one of the animals he would have to kiss and hug it and say "aw!". It's really cute how much he loves animals, bugs and reptiles - basically anything that moves!
We went to church, then to Grandma's, then back to our house for Easter with Scott's side and then we went to Granny's for dinner. We started at 8am and didn't stop until 9pm. It was crazy but super fun. Thank you Jesus for all that you sacrificed for us.

Things you can do in "big boy" underwear...

Watch Daddy get ready to start mowing the front yard and beg to "help".

Go with Momma to the backyard to play and stay out of Daddy's way.

Ride the toy push car and smile big cause your wearing big boy underwear!

Work on the car...

Push it to the garage!

Boss Daisy around.

Dead serious - stand on the driveway and critique Daddy's mowing skills.

Decide to sprint beside Daddy with no inhibitions.

Look so cute that Daddy decides to let you help.

But "helping" just isn't enough when you're a big boy, so you take the handle and run with the self-propelled mower!

Cars pass, neighbors wave, big boy underwear are great - just don't understand why everyone else wears pants over them?!?!

My sweet baby is turning into a curious kid before my very eyes. I just can't get enough of this little tushy in underwear instead of a diaper - it is so cute! After the diaper incident on Saturday morning, i went straight to Wal-Mart and bought a bunch of undies and a little musical potty. With Nolan I took off a few days from work, read a bunch of books and worked so hard to get him trained. With Hud - we seriously just threw him in them and went on about life. He is doing great!

Meaghan and Todd's Wedding Shower

Saturday was a really busy day for us. We had to clean house, get Easter stuff purchased and we were invited to three parties all at the same time! Scott and I decided to divide and conquer. Scott took the boys to our church picnic and was gonna go to Kennedy's 2nd b-day but ended up missing the party. I hated they missed the party but Hudson was being a pain in the rear and they just couldn't make it to both. I was just proud that he got them to one event! It's so much harder to do anything when the kids out number you! Meaghan and Todd's big day is fast approaching so Becca hosted a wedding shower for them. Everything was beautiful and she received a ton of great gifts. I can't wait for their wedding, it's going to be beautiful!

Time for potty training

Hudson wanted to play in the backyard on Saturday morning. He was still in his pj's but I let him outside and just left the backdoor open. About ten minutes later, I could hear Hud talking out there. I walked out to check out what he was doing and found him up on top of the fort talking to our neighbor Brad. The only problem was he was naked from the waist down! I went over and asked him what he was doing and about where were his pants and diaper. He responded "I took them off." (No Kidding!) I yelled over to Brad that he definitely had pants on when I let him outside. Brad was laughing and responded back that he knew Hudson did because he was on the fort and then got down while telling him that he was going to pee. I freaked and asked Hud, "Where did you go pee pee?" and he responded "Right over there!" while pointing to the corner of our house. SERIOUSLY?!?! OMG! Brad said that he thought it was so funny he went and got Carol (his wife) to come out and see Hud in all his glory. Their kids are grown so they just love our boys. It was both humiliating and hilarious all at the same! It was at that moment I knew it was time for potty training!

I went and got the camera and Hud smiled so big for me. Hilarious! I have one with him on top of the fort but I'm gonna save that one for his first date to see. :) I have no idea what happened to his shirt, I guess he tried to take it off too but it got twisted up or something. It was almost like he had his shirt tied up like a half shirt - SO FUNNY!

Austin Trip

On Thursday I went with Christi down to Austin. We were on a top secret mission. Brent had a field trip to the capitol and Christi was really freaking out about him riding on a bus for that long. She has seriously been worrying about this trip since Brent was in Kindergarten! The school did not take any parent volunteers on the trip so we decided to follow the buses down and then just spend the day in Austin shopping. It was a great day trip. We followed the bus and made sure it arrived safely and then headed down to South Congress. We found a place that made yummy tacos and even yummier fresh lime margaritas! It was such a cool area to shop with a farmer's market, resale shops, antiques and even a row of airstream RV's that were cooking up everything from BBQ to cupcakes! Brent of course made it home safe and sound at the end of the night - mission accomplished!

A day at the park...

We met up with some of the girls and their kiddos on Saturday for some fun in the sun. It was a little windy but a pretty nice spring day. Nolan took most of the pictures for me. :)
