More Birthday Shots
Hudson opened presents from all of the grandparents and us for his birthday. He received tons for cute clothes and a few great toys. I forgot about how much I love two years old. He is so busy ans into everything, notice that every picture posted over the past month? He has a new bruise, scratch or bump. Such a bruiser! So happy, so Hudson! :)

It's hard when it's not your b-day...
Today of course was Hudson's 2nd birthday. We spent the day as a family and just really relaxed. The weather was yucky so we couldn't go to the zoo (maybe tomorrow!) so we just hung out and enjoyed the day. Nolan had a hard time knowing that his birthday is in two weeks and had to watch Hudson get all the attention. It was a little rough but he really did good for the situation. I guess we will go through this every year going forward because Hud's will always be first.
Nolan helped me bake a cake and wrap presents while Hudson was taking a nap.

This last picture was just too funny not to add - this was Nolan's outfit when our family came over for cake and presents - snake & guitar t-shirt, khaki shorts, a set of army dog tags and boots. Classic.

Geek Squad
This is random but I had to share, today we had a visit from the Best Buy Geek Squad. Um and no it wasn't cheap or something that we really wanted to do, but after about 9 days of being unable to get our wireless network up and running we called them out! They were able to fix our issue in about 10 minutes - that was a pretty fast way to spend 100 bucks. :( The only good news is that it's fixed, oh and that Nolan was SUPER impressed with our special visitor. You would have thought a celebrity was visiting us! I had to take some pictures of all the excitment. Hudson missed out since he came at naptime. Check out the geek; he was good sport and even posed for me with his official "badge" that they wear.

Birthday Time!
This is Hudson and Nolan's birthday month! I took the boys last week to get pictures. I put a few up on my blog but I thought I would share a few more. We did them at train tracks in Mansfield because we are going to have a train party for the boys at the end of the month. They were really funny out there. Nolan was super worried and kept talking about how dangerous it was for us to be on the tracks. Hudson could have cared less and thought it was really cool. Aunt B went with me to take the pictures so we had to make an escape plan for in case a train came to get Nolan stand on the tracks. I really didn't even think that the train track was used but as we were leaving a train came. I was kinda glad though because it was huge and super loud. It was a good lesson for the boys to understand they can never get close to train tracks without an adult. We decided to combine their parties since they have birthdays two weeks apart and because of Hudson's surgery. Invites were sent out today. We are having it at Trinity Park in Fort Worth and we are going to ride the train that runs from the park to the zoo. It should be a lot of fun! Hudson will be two years old tomorrow!

Goodbye 80's Shower!
When we moved in our house three years ago the one thing that we did not like about this house was the master bathroom shower. It is this big old brown and gold yuck shower. The grout was redone when we purchased it but it was not done correctly as it started falling out and there was yucky BLACK grout behind the brown grout. Now if the grout was actually back, or just 25 years old and mildewed I wasn't sure. It was terrible though and no matter what I did to it it just looked yucky. About a month ago four tiles popped off and the wall behind it was rotten. We called out a contractor as there is just no more waiting - we have to replace the tile! When he came out he told us that back in the early 80's (when our house was built) they did not have to use waterproof sheet rock behind the tile so that there was probably a lot of damage and mold behind the tile from years of water exposure. He and Scott pulled off more tiles and you can see how Scott rigged it so that we could take a shower until the project got started. They couldn't start until yesterday. My mom came over and stayed while we were gone with Hudson. They did all of the demolition and just like he thought there is rotted wood. They cleared it all out and sprayed it with some type of stuff to kill mold and are now leaving fans on it to dry it out over the weekend. Monday they will be here to start replacing the wood and rebuilding the shower. They should have the shower completed by Wednesday. Yay!! So exciting! Of course this has now turned into a much more expensive project than we initially planned but at least it will be nice once it's done! We are going to replace the faucets on the tub and sinks too. Can't wait! Here are few of the "before" and "current" shower.

Hudson's Surgery
Hudson's surgery went great! He was in and out in about 20 minutes and sailed through with no complications. Praise God! The dr confirmed that he did indeed have infected ear drums AGAIN and that his adenoids were swollen and "icky"; so I am so glad that we did it. I am hoping that this is the magical fix we have been hoping for! Hudson freaked out when he woke up from surgery and had to have a breathing treatment because he was wheezing so much in between screams. They said that it is common for kids to go through that when waking from general anesthesia. It was kinda like a HUGE, CRAZY, HOUR LONG fit. Poor baby - you know that made the throat pain a zillion times worse. They ended up giving him a little sedative to try to help calm him down. He finally fell asleep when we got in the car a few hours later. It was so sad, but thankfully he was fine. We got home and snuggled him into the bed and he slept for about 4.5 hours and woke up hungry and ready for a big drink! The afternoon was a little rough as he would be okay for a little while and then want only to snuggle on me or be on my hip. Not Daddy's, Not Nana's, Not MiMi's or anyone else who stopped by - but I have to admit I kinda liked it. Ryleigh made him a sweet "get well soon" card. He pretty much milked it all afternoon. :) He went down about 7:30 for the night and slept all night - only crying out once. I went in gave him some more pain meds and he was out for the rest of the night. Today he has been much better, not 100% but doing great! Below are a few pictures from yesterday morning while we were waiting before they called us back.

Hudson
I am sure you guys have read Christi's post. Please say a little prayer for us tomorrow. We have to be at the hospital at 6:45AM! Hopefully we will be home in no time! I am just hoping that this solves Hudson's constant ear infections!
