Ear Infections

Ear Infections have been a constant problem at our house for the past couple of months. Poor Hudson has been on and off antibiotics since late January. For some reason his ears just will not clear up and it has been hard for the whole family. He will go from feeling great one morning to feeling awful that night! We are really sick of having a sick baby! Our pediatrician, Dr Fikkert said after last week's visit that it was time to go see an ENT. (ear, nose and throat specialist) We went on Monday only to find that his ears still look a bit murky (and he has only been off meds since Friday) and his adenoids were swollen. They took pictures of Hudson's ear canals and checked him out thoroughly. Dr. Lowry would like to wait it out and see what his adenoids do over the next few weeks. If they continue to stay inflamed then we will probably need to have them removed. He think that tubes for his ears might help but that he really does not think that is the problem, nor would it stop all the infections - but he does think that removing the adenoids tissue could. I liked the fact that he was not surgery happy and had a great bedside manor. I was really worried we would get in there and end up with tubes. I like this "wait it out" approach - except for the fact that now we are waiting for Hud to get sick again. Please pray that our sweet baby gets well and doesn't have to go through surgery!

Pictures from a random night this week...whatever day was kinda warm!
